6 New Features You May Have Missed in EverWeb 4.3!

The recently released EverWeb 4.3 for macOS and Windows has some great new features such as the brand new PayPal Modern widget, text justification and scrollable text for TextBoxes. But there’s are plenty of other smaller but none the less, important, new features in the new EverWeb release! Below, we take a look at these features in more detail…

Size Adjustable Layout Buttons: EverWeb introduced layout buttons in the top left hand corner of most objects in EverWeb version 4.2. These buttons can help you move an object up and down the page, delete an object, or in the case of a Widget, easily access the Widget Settings without having to mouse over to the Inspector Window to do so. In the current EverWeb release, you still see these icons, but they’re by default smaller than they werein the previous EverWeb release. If you prefer the larger sized layout buttons icons, go to the EverWeb-> Settings menu option on a Mac, or Edit-> Options in Windows. Next, click on the General button. You will see that by default ‘Use small layout buttons’ is checked. If you want to use larger layout buttons, just uncheck this option.

Protecting Against AI Bots
New to EverWeb 4.3 is the ability to block AI Bots. You’ll find this feature in the File-> Edit Publishing Settings menu option. Scroll down to the bottom of the settings. At the bottom of the Advanced Option section you’ll see that ‘Block AI Bots’ is by default checked. We recommend that you leave this option as is.

For advanced users, you can also edit the robots.txt file and also the .htaccess file to enter in your own code if needed. If you have the experience to do this, remember to test properly to make sure that your site loads properly. If the code you enter is incorrect, you may experience ‘500 Internal Error’ type messages.

Justified Text Everywhere!
Something that may have been on a few people’s wish list of features to add to EverWeb is the ability to justify text in TextBoxes. This new feature to EverWeb 4.3 now means that you can justify text anywhere in the product: In TextBoxes, The Styled Text Editor in widgets, and in blog posts!

Drag & Dropping Stock Photos
One of the nice things about EverWeb is the ability to drag and drop images in Assets Lists in the Inspector window. This feature has been gradually expanded over the last year or so. In EverWeb 4.3 you can now You can now drag and drop photos directly into the Fill Slideshow Asset List from the Stock Photos window. A small but great way to save you time and effort when creating slideshows!

Font Preview in The Text Inspector: If you’re using EverWeb on a Mac, selecting fonts is now an easier, more visual experience as the fonts list dropdown in the Text Inspector shows the font in its own style. This is a nice touch as you now can choose fonts without having to try them first!

Certified for macOS Sequoia!
Another addition for our Mac users who have updated their macOS to the latest version, macOS Sequoia, over the last couple of months. EverWeb has been tested against this so the new version 4.3 is macOS Sequoia compatible.
